Finding My Style Mentor (Tim Gunn Style)
The closet and dresser are cleaned out. All the clothing not currently in rotation is boxed up. So. Where does this leave me, Tim Gunn? Besides with fewer clothing options (which is actually strangely liberating)?
It leaves me to figure out my style identity. According to Tim, I need to find a style and “mentor” to go along with it. He offers the following suggestions:

On Saturday I went out intending to go to a sale and it was a bust. I was really annoyed. I was all the way out in White Bear Lake, which is like Mars to me. OK, maybe like Texas? So I’m driving and driving and then I see an enormous church rummage sale spread out across a parking lot.
So I stopped.
Newsflash: Tim Gunn Not a Fan of Flip Flops
A full review of the book Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste & Style to come but I will share this nugget of information. Tim Gunn doesn’t like flip flops. He refers to wearing them as being akin to strapping slabs of rubber to your feet. I agree.
I finished it. One brown skirt ready for action. And it only took me, what? A month??
Where, oh where, have I been?
Well, first I was in California for vacation, having a very rad time indeed. Then I got back and have had a case of the lazies. Did vacation make me feel rested and ready to take on new challenges? Not at all.
